Ticket Refund and Cancellation Policy

Stirling and District Women’s Aid Event Ticket Terms and Conditions

1. General

All tickets purchased for events organised by Stirling and District Women’s Aid are sold subject to these Terms and Conditions. By purchasing a ticket, the purchaser agrees to be bound by these Terms.

As a registered charity, event income is used to support our charitable purposes and to meet the costs of organising and delivering our events. Ticket sales are therefore an important source of funding and event sustainability.

2. Customer Cancellations

Except as expressly provided in these Terms, all ticket sales are final and non-refundable.

No refund shall be payable where the ticket holder is unable to attend the event due to personal circumstances, including but not limited to illness, travel disruption, work commitments, family commitments, adverse weather affecting the attendee, or any other reason not attributable to the Charity.

3. Ticket Resale by the Charity

Where a ticket holder notifies the Charity that they can no longer attend, the Charity may, at its sole discretion, attempt to resell the ticket.

If the ticket is successfully resold, the Charity may refund the original ticket price less any booking fees, administration fees, transaction charges, or other costs incurred by the Charity.

No refund shall be due unless and until the ticket has been successfully resold and payment has been received from the replacement attendee.

The Charity does not guarantee that any ticket will be resold.

4. Transfer of Tickets

Subject to the Charity’s approval, tickets may be transferred to another person by contacting Stirling and District Women’s Aid no later than 7 days before the event.

The Charity reserves the right to refuse a transfer where operational, safeguarding, security, insurance, or regulatory requirements make a transfer impracticable.

5. Event Cancellation by the Charity

If the Charity cancels an event and no alternative date is offered, ticket holders shall be entitled to a refund of the ticket price paid.

The Charity shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including travel, accommodation, subsistence, loss of earnings, or other expenses incurred by attendees.

6. Postponement or Material Changes

The Charity reserves the right to postpone an event, change the venue to a reasonable alternative location, amend the programme, substitute speakers, performers or activities, or make other reasonable operational changes.

Where an event is postponed, tickets will normally remain valid for the rescheduled date.

Where a postponement or material change substantially affects the nature of the event, the Charity will consider refund requests in accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation.

7. Force Majeure

The Charity shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay arises from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, public health emergencies, government restrictions, industrial disputes, venue closures, utility failures, or acts of terrorism.

In such circumstances, the Charity may postpone, reschedule, modify or cancel the event as reasonably necessary.

8. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law.

Subject to the foregoing, the Charity’s maximum liability arising out of or in connection with the event shall not exceed the face value of the ticket purchased.

9. Statutory Rights

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall affect the purchaser’s statutory rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.
