How you can help

Stirling and District Women’s Aid needs your support to be able to run our services in the Stirlingshire area.

Your support means a lot to us and enables us to help more women, children and young people become free of domestic abuse.

See below for some of the ways in which you can help support us.

Donate

You can make direct donations to Stirling Women’s Aid. This will help us to continue providing the support and services to women and children affected by domestic abuse.

  • £5 per month will support one women taking part in a weekly support group
  • £8 per month will support a child or young person taking part in a weekly activity
  • £10 per month will enable us to make a visit a week to a woman in need of support
  • £60 will pay for a week’s food for a woman and her children coming into refuge
  • £130 will enable us to provide one to one support to a woman for three months

Host a fundraising event

Fundraise via JustGiving

JustGiving is an organisation/platform which allows you to donate or raise funds for charitable organisations.

You can set up a personalised fundraising page for Stirling Women’s aid, which you can then send this out to all your family and friends.

JustGiving can also claim giftaid on our behalf. This means for every £1 donates/raised we receive a further 28p from HMRC at no cost to you or us!

Take part in a SDWA event

We aim to host a couple of fundraising events each year.

We don’t have any events scheduled at the moment but we will be adding a raffle soon!

Things we always need

We are always in need of items for women in crisis who may have left abusive situations with very few possessions.

These could include:

  • Toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, deodorant, wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste and sanitary towels/tampons. We are only able to accept new toiletries, not partially used.
  • Mobile phones with chargers.
  • Supermarket vouchers.

Things we will request when needed:

Many people are keen to donate larger items that they no longer have need of and we can often match these items with families we support who are in need.

However, we do not have storage space in our offices so it is always best to call us in advance on 01786 469518 to see if there are families in need of what you are offering.

These items could include:

  • Children’s clothes including school uniforms.
  • Children’s toys, sport and musical equipment.
  • TVs and DVD players.
  • Furniture and white goods – please note that we do not have the ability to pick up these items.
